Stefanie Spielman, the wife of former Ohio State football great, Chris Spielman, passed away Thursday evening at her home in Upper Arlington, after a long and trying fight with cancer.

Spielman, 42, who battled the disease off-and-on for more than a decade, was a very well-known advocate for breast cancer awareness and research, not only in Ohio, but all across the country.

The Stefanie Spielman Fund for Cancer Research, which she and her husband established in 1998, has raised millions of dollars for breast-cancer research, awareness measures and assistance for patients at the Ohio State University's James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.

Stefanie, who married Chris in 1989, is also survived by her four children: Madison, 15, Noah, 13, Macy, 8, and Audrey, 7.

God bless Stefanie, her family and all her loved ones, as well as those who have lost or are still fighting with this horrible illness.
