HUBER HEIGHTS — Huber Heights Wayne quarterback Braxton Miller appears to have decided on his collegiate choice and will announce his decision this Thursday.

Miller's head coach at Wayne, Jay Minton, informed me by email that a press conference has been set for this Thursday at 12 p.m. in the high school's auditorium.

It would appear that the nation's top quarterback prospect will announce Ohio State as his choice, after recently stating they were his leader. Also, Wayne High School — and the Huber Heights area in general — has a very pro-Ohio State fan base, so having a press conference to announce that he's going elsewhere wouldn't seem wise.

He has narrowed his choices to two schools, OSU and Florida.

After observing Miller during his visit to the Buckeyes spring practice in April, the athletic signal caller looked very comfortable in the OSU surroundings, both around the players and with his would-be coaches. He was also the only recruit I saw this spring who was decked out head-to-toe in Ohio State gear. And his father, as well.

Miller is the major recruiting piece that head coach Jim Tressel needs, not only finding a star quarterback to eventually take over for Terrelle Pryor, but also to help land some other top flight recruits for the 2011 class, most notably Springfield linebacker Trey DePriest, who is Miller's best friend.

More to come ...
