DePriest, who is considered one of the top linebacker prospects in the country has narrowed his list to two schools, Alabama and Ohio State. He has visited both schools in the past week.
Many feel that Alabama is his likely choice, but he has yet to declare either school as his official leader.
One thing to note in his decision is that he is lifelong best friends with Ohio State commit Braxton Miller. He and Miller played together from peewee to junior high, before Miller moved to Huber Heights to play quarterback at Wayne.
During Miller's announcement press conference back in June — with DePriest on hand — he stated that he would be trying to recruit his good buddy to Columbus.
"I'm going to be like, you know, you're an Ohio kid," Miller said in June about DePriest. "You want to be a national champion? Then come and stay with your boy, get a room with me and it'll be all good."
That could play a huge role in DePriest's decision, even though the Springfield star has indicated numerous times that it will not be a factor.
We shall see this Friday.
