NEW YORK — Ohio State junior center Mike Brewster and senior cornerback Chimdi Chekwa were named to the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) All-American team on Saturday afternoon in New York.

Brewster — who was a finalist for the Rimington Trophy on Thursday night given to the nation's most outstanding center — was an integral part of a Buckeyes offense which totaled 5,386 yards this season — 2,636 of which coming on the ground.

Brewster was also named first team All-Big Ten this season.

Chimdi Chekwa
Chekwa — who was named to the 2010 Walter Camp All-American squad as a second team selection earlier in the week — finished the regular season with a team-high three interceptions, as well as 42 tackles and two forced fumbles.

Chekwa, too, was named first team All-Big Ten this season and was a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, given to the nation's best defensive back.
