MOBILE, Ala. — Ohio State linebacker Ross Homan has accepted an invitation to play in the 2011 Under Armour Senior Bowl, which will take place on January 29 in Mobile, Alabama.

Homan — who finished the 2010 season with 72 tackles (second on team) — will be a member of the North squad, which will be led by Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis.

Senior Bowl President and CEO, Steve Hale, said that they are thrilled to have a player of Homan's caliber participating in their game.

"Ross is a fine football player and played a big role in leading the Buckeyes to a great season which culminated with a Sugar Bowl victory," Hale said of Homan. "We believe he's a great addition to our North roster and we're really expecting him to perform well down here (in Mobile) next week."

The Coldwater, Ohio native finished his career at Ohio State with 287 tackles, including 17 for loss and seven interceptions. Homan was the Buckeyes leading tackler over the past two seasons with 180 total.

The Senior Bowl will be played at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile on Saturday, Jan. 29 at 4 p.m.

The game — and all practices — will be televised on the NFL Network.
