COLUMBUS — Ohio State tailback Jordan Hall, cornerback Travis Howard and safety Corey Brown have not been reinstated by the NCAA and will again be unavailable for Saturday's football game against Toledo, the university announced Friday evening.

The three players were suspended from the season opener last week after accepting improper benefits (of $300 or less) at a charity event earlier this year.

OSU assistant athletics communications director, Jerry Emig, issued a statement on Thursday saying that "the university continues to work with the NCAA on the reinstatement process and is hopeful that the student-athletes will be reinstated soon."

Hall and Howard were listed as starters going into the Akron game last week before being handed a one-game suspension. Earlier this week, interim head coach Luke Fickell stated that the three would be available for Saturday's game against Toledo.

Carlos Hyde — who was already named the starter by running backs coach Dick Tressel on Thursday — will get the nod at tailback for the second straight week, while Dominic Clarke will replace Howard once again at left cornerback. Brown is a backup to C.J. Barnett at free safety.
